The National Bar Association is sponsoring a Youth Day for high school students

You are cordially invited to participate in the Sixth Annual Linnes Finney, Jr. "NBA Youth Day" which will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas during the National Bar Association’s 87th Annual Convention. The law school is located at 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, Nevada 89154. Each year, the NBA has partnered with the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for this program. This year, we are also partnering with the Boyd School of Law and The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. The National Black Law School Association (NBLSA) provides volunteers.

The purpose of the program is to assist in preparing high school students (grades 9 through 12) to apply for college and to expose students to information about a career in the practice of law. Our ultimate goal is to potentially increase the number of students in the "pipeline" to become lawyers in the future. The high school students will be introduced to law students, college and law school administrators, and practicing attorneys. They will also have an opportunity to participate in workshops and a mock trial competition. The day long program is free of cost and a continental breakfast and lunch will be served. The students must provide their own transportation to the law school.
