Soaring for Silver

Soaring for Silver

 

This course is required training to earn the Girl Scout Silver Award. Girls and volunteers will review Girl Scout Silver Award requirements, and completing the required Journey pre-requisites. Girls will learn how to explore their community and issues that are important to them, develop a project plan and develop a plan to make the impact of their take action .project sustainable.

An International Teen Climate Challenge! for US and Canada

Project Polar Bear invites teens in teams of 2 or 3 with an adult advisor to conduct greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects and win a chance to see polar bears in Canada!

The projects are in four categories:
Power Down
Increase the Green
Buy Recycled
Make it Better, Do it Better

Teen teams have a blog to track their progress on the Polar Bears International website!

Finalists win a trip to San Diego. Grand prize winners win a trip to Churchill, MB Canada, the Polar Bear Capital of the World!

Thanks for the info. I will google and see what kind of "stuff" I can find for troop to use when they are doing their meeting. :)

I think I only found one for the younger girls. However, you can use google to search for Cadette resources. Also, the new Journey books are an awesome resource. They have activiites and can be planned and completed by the girls with support from their leader. Instead of leader having to plan all. :-)

I printed up the brownie and junior journey file, very helpful. Is there one out there for Cadettes?
